Nestled within the historic Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, our stables offer some of the best horseback riding in Arizona. Escape the city and immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Sonoran Desert. Do I need experience to ride?We take all levels of experience, even if you have never rode before. This is a great way to ride for the first time.

What is your weight limit for the rides?We have a 220 lb weight limit. With approval, we do have some flexibility. Please call if you or your guest is over 220 lbs. Our weight restrictions vary depending on our horse availability. In the summer, our weight limit is 200 lbs.

Will we cross the river during our ride?It is possible but not a guarantee. Trails vary with the season and are determined by the Wranglers based on trail conditions and safety. River crossings are subject to water levels and are typically only available during winter (November – February), but are never guaranteed. We strive to provide this river crossing experience when it is available, however, the safety of our riders and trail guides is our utmost priority!

Can I bring a bag with me on the ride?For your safety, we do not permit any items around your neck, back or waist. This includes fanny packs, purses, backpacks of any size, two handed cameras and camelbacks.

What do I need for the ride?Please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. We have saddlebags on each horse so you can bring a water bottle and a cell phone. We recommend leaving all your valuable items secured at home or in your car. We provide lockers on site, if needed. We recommend a hat and sunscreen. Hats and second layers must be snug fitting and remain on for the duration of the ride. Bottled water is required during temps over 75° for each rider.

Myself or someone in my group just found out we are pregnant, can we ride?For your safety and the safety of your future child, no.

Do you have helmets available?Yes! They are highly recommended for each rider, though not required. You are welcome to bring your own or use ours for free.

Do I need a reservation?Yes, for your convenience you can view our schedule of availability and book online. Once you complete your reservation online, we will send you a confirmation email with pre-trip instructions so that you will know how to come prepared. Same day reservations, 2 hour rides, private rides, special requests and large group rides are not available online. Please call 480-984-0335 to inquire.

Do I have to get on the horse from the ground?We offer mounting blocks with 3 steps and require all riders to mount from the block.

My child is nervous to ride on their own, can they ride double with me on my horse?No. We do not allow “double riding.”

My child will be 7 in just a few months and they are very tall and mature for their age, can they still go on a tour?No. We are firm that all children must be a minimum of 7 years old or older to ride.

Can I bring my dog with me to the ranch while I wait?No. We do not allow outside animals at the ranch.

What is your gratuity policy? Any additional fees? What about cancellations?An automatic 20% gratuity is collected upon arrival for all groups with 4 or more rides and for all private rides, unless prepaid. We charge a $35 Unaccompanied Minor Fee for reservations for children without adults on the ride. We have a 24 hour cancellation or change policy. There is a $35 late fee if you do not arrive 15 minutes before your reservation time. You need to check in 30 minutes prior to your reservation time to avoid being rushed, incurring a late fee or missing your ride. We do not offer refunds or reschedule if you miss your ride, so please arrive on time.
